A little time shall we...

Last week finally ended the renovation of my home! Hooray! Of course there are still many small projects and updates I plan to do but the bulk is done. SO, I was sitting there thinking Saturday, while the gutters (the last job) were being hung, 'exactly how many DAYS has this reno taken?' Well here it is, along with a more in-depth breakdown of time:

From and including: Friday, February 25, 2011
To, but not including : Saturday, May 25, 2013

It is 820 days from the start date to the end date, but not including the end date;
Or 2 years, 3 months excluding the end date!

But wait: 820 days can be converted to one of these units:
  • 70,848,000 seconds
  • 1,180,800 minutes
  • 19,680 hours
  • 117 weeks (rounded down)
So there! From now on I may refer to my house and the reno as 820 days. :)
(Please note that the renovation wasn't 820 consecutive days. There were many slow months while I saved and planned).

Have a great weekend.

DERBY Nation and the END of a Renovation

If you don't already know it's Derby in Louisville. The weather is beautiful (though it could rain during the races) but for now we will take it! With all of the fun things to do during this time of year I have been working on the last stage of my house. The siding will go up any day now, or in 2 weeks (after the contractors vacay). None the less it has me super pumped. As if the inside wasn't enough fun (humor) the outside has posed many steps and stress. First, one month ago I had the electrical work done, this job consisted of the following: new service, meter, panel up grade, dryer hook up, dishwasher hook up, fixing several open junctions...). Then came the new front door 2 weeks ago and the vinyl contractor followed close... He suggested moving my exterior lights, which were in the soffits above the front and back doors. SO this past weekend we pulled the vinyl soffits down (along with other trim and shutters) and moved the wiring down and out through the wall/facing of the house (front and back). Now I just have some wires hanging out waiting for the siding to go up and BAM, it'll be done. Though I am beyond excited, I am also having anxiety, or maybe it's just a little patience I'm lacking. Stay tuned ya'll for here is the first picture, the day I bought my house!!!
